Grand Hotel des Bains Kempinski, St. Moritz

Newly designed rooms and suites

The 76 newly designed rooms and suites represent a significant milestone in the multi-year renovation project

The new rooms and suites are now controlled by ISYGLT, our professional and flexible control solution which guarantees maximum ease of use. This comprehensive redesign further cements the hotel's commitment to setting new standards of luxury and elegance in the heart of the Swiss Alps.

New technology for the design lighting of the façade

The Grand Hotel des Bains Kempinski St. Moritz's façade lighting was completely redesigned in 2021. The previous halogen lighting was outdated due to its high energy consumption, so a sustainable solution was required.

Light Fashion Switzerland, Austria developed innovative RGBW LED façade luminaires with radio control to meet this need. These new luminaires preserve the original design of the façade while opening up new possibilities. Depending on the theme and occasion, the hotel façade can now be bathed in a fascinating world of colourful light.

Advantages of our intelligent ISYGLT control system:

  • On the one hand, our control system enables centralised, higher-level control of the entire hotel areas.
  • In addition, the hotel rooms can be controlled floor by floor in the form of a floor plan visualisation individually or in groups via a touch PC: for example, presets for heating, underfloor heating or towel dryers can be selected here. Particular attention was paid here to intuitive and logical operation for the technical staff.
  • A wide range of additional settings can be made for the hotel rooms, such as the Sabbath setting, which deactivates the motion detectors at the guest's request.
  • Thanks to the centralised networking of all control components, possible faults can also be clearly displayed and named.

Intelligent lighting control for maximum comfort

The newly designed hotel rooms offer stylish and intuitive lighting control. You can choose from three preconfigured lighting scenes via elegant control points:

  • Dimmed light - for a relaxed atmosphere
  • Full lighting - for maximum brightness
  • Reading lighting - targeted light for your reading

With the ‘Central off’ function, guests can conveniently switch off all the lighting. The control elements provide colour-coded feedback on the next recommended scene - based on the current setting. To maximise user-friendliness, the buttons are strategically located in important places: at the entrance to the room, on both sides of the bed, at the desk and in the bathroom and WC.

Optimised control for smooth processes

A touch panel at reception enables the status of the room lighting to be displayed.

A significant advantage: the reception can view fault messages from the room control system at any time. This means that failed light sources can be recognised at an early stage - often before the guest even notices. In addition, messages about faulty push-button interfaces and control components can be called up, including direct access to the fault message page of each individual room control unit.

User comfort

The interior lighting is very easy to operate via Touch-PC or Wall-Touch. Depending on the occasion, the predefined suitable lighting scene can be called up. If the lighting requirements change, the lighting scenes can be adjusted directly by an authorised user.

The specifications for the lighting control tasks

According to the client's wishes, the existing cabling was to be retained. Under the direction of our cooperation partner “Light Fashion - Switzerland, Austria”, we were able to realise the scenic façade lighting. The special feature of the new façade lighting is that the customised RGBW LED façade spotlights are controlled by our new ISYwireless-ISYGLT-01 wireless module.

We also control the interior lighting (entrance hall, bar, enoteca and two other restaurants, corridors and stairwells), the roof lighting and the entire exterior lighting including the car park, fountains, flags, paths, etc.

A total of 38 luminaires - divided into 7 groups - are controlled. Very easy to operate via touch PC or wall touch.
